What Is Sugaring Wax?
Sugaring wax is one of the oldest and gentlest ways to remove hair from the root. The paste is cooked from just three ingredients, sugar, lemon and water, and molded onto the skin by hand. Because it is water-soluble and contains no resin, it washes away with water and is kind to sensitive areas.
Natura's founder, Rafaela Chagas, brought the technique from Brazil, where salons perfected their own warm sugaring recipes. Since 2010 our estheticians have refined it into the Original Sugaring Melt®, used in every Natura studio as part of our 3-step Brazilian method with soft wax, hard wax and sugaring.
Why the hair grows back softer
Shaving only cuts the hair at the surface, so it returns in a day or two. Sugar waxing removes the whole hair from the follicle. Done every 4 to 5 weeks without shaving in between, the follicles weaken and the hair comes back finer, lighter and sparser over time.

Sugaring wax is a hair removal method that uses a paste made only of sugar, lemon and water. At Natura we use our own Sugaring Melt®, applied lukewarm and removed in the direction of hair growth, so it pulls the hair from the root without gripping the skin.
New clients pay $39 for their first Brazilian wax at any Natura studio (regular price $69 in Florida and $73 in California). After that, Smooth Club members keep a monthly Brazilian at member pricing.
For most people, yes. Sugaring is lukewarm instead of hot, sticks only to the hair and is removed with the growth, which means less redness, less breakage and fewer ingrown hairs. Natura also offers soft and hard wax, and your esthetician will choose the best option for your skin.
There is some discomfort, but most clients find sugaring far gentler than traditional wax, especially on the bikini area. The warm paste does not stick to live skin, and the pain gets lower with regular visits as the hair grows back finer.
Results usually last 3 to 5 weeks because the hair is removed from the root. With regular sessions every 4 to 5 weeks, hair tends to grow back finer and sparser over time.
About 1/4 inch, roughly 2 to 3 weeks of growth after shaving. Sugaring can grab shorter hair than hot wax, but if your hair is very long, your esthetician will trim it first.
Stop shaving 2 to 3 weeks before, gently exfoliate the day before, and come with clean, dry skin with no lotion or oil. Avoid tanning and caffeine right before your appointment if you are sensitive.
For 24 to 48 hours, skip hot baths, saunas, tanning, the gym and tight clothing. After 48 hours, exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week and use an ingrown hair serum to keep the skin smooth between visits.
